Dan Mitchell is an American songwriter/singer/producer, best known for co-writing the #1 (US and Canada) Alabama hit "If You’re Gonna Play In Texas, You Gotta Have A Fiddle In The Band," which BMI has certified for over 4 million airplays. He has RIAA certifications for over 30 Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum awards. Dan is also credited for singing, writing and producing National Television and Radio commercials for Miller Beer and is noted for his production work with such legendary recording acts as Johnny PayCheck, Tiny Tim and many others.

Dan produced and co-wrote, Jason Mitchell's song "STOMP" which was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers as one of their featured songs at home games. The Steelers invited Jason to perform "STOMP" and the "Star Spangled Banner" at Heinz Field in 2013 for over 60,000 fans!

 Dan’s writing and production work also led to Jason’s signing with Stroudavarius and R&J Records. Jason has finished and digitally released his new project ”Comin' Off The Water." 

Produced the Johnny PayCheck Project "The Last Outlaw" featuring George Jones. The Tracks were recorded at The Bennett House and Johnny's vocals were performed on location at the Chillicothe Correctional Institute in Ohio where Johnny was imprisoned. Dan managed PayCheck upon his release in 1991. 

Produced and co-wrote Tiny Tim's album "Leave Me Satisfied" which was Tiny's first Top 40 Country Single for NLT Records. 

Produced Deborah Allen's "Rockin' Little Christmas" with guests The Oak Ridge Boys, Larry Gatlin, Suzy Bogus and The Bellamy Brothers for WeBlast Records which was later optioned to Red River Entertainment/Sony Red. 

Taylor Made, a sibling trio, from West Virginia was awarded "MusicRow Magazine's Independent Artist of the Year" in 2012 and New Music Weekly Magazine's "New Country Artist of 2012". Dan managed and produced them and was President of their record label, Little General Records. 

Former head of Verastar Records, their artist, Marianne Allison, was nominated 'Female Vocalist of the Year'in New Music Weekly Magazine and reached the #1 position twice (June 24, 2015 and again July 17, 2015) with her single  "Take My People With Me" produced by Dan and written by Marianne and Sean Gasaway. 

As head of Premier 1 Records, Dan produced Mason Dixon, a popular group from Texas, The group was the first act to have a Top 40 Country Billboard single on an independent record label in the 1980s, with the release of "3935 West End Avenue" in 1987 and that same year Mason Dixon won Cashbox Magazine's prestigious 'Group of the Year' award. Dan was instrumental in securing them a record deal with Capitol Records. 

Produced the British group Poacher for European Release. 

Produced the band Southern Exposure which led to them being signed to Giant Records.
